Civil Society Movement for the Palestinian Cause in Pakistan

Save Gaza Campaign, the civil society movement for the Palestinian cause in Pakistan, is pleased to announce the patronage of three diverse political and social personalities for this cause. This collaboration with,

  • Mr. Mushahid Hussain (Ex-Member of Senate)
  • Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed (Ex-Member of Sentate)
  • and Ms. Maria Butt (Fashion Designer)

marks a significant milestone for the campaign, which aims to unite all sectors of society in support of the Palestinian cause.

We anticipate that with their patronage, this movement will take further significant strides in uniting the people in pressuring the Government of Pakistan to take decisive action in denouncing the ongoing genocide and mass murder in Gaza, as well as to challenge Israel’s oppressive control of the Palestinian land.

The movement centers around five core demands, continually advocated for through public Pressure:

  1. Immediate global intervention and heightened pressure for an immediate ceasefire.
  2. Establishment of a formal team by the Government of Pakistan to join South Africa in the prosecution of Israel for crimes against humanity in the International Court of Justice.
  3. Initiation of proceedings on Israel’s war crimes in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
  4. Diplomatic demarche with the ambassadors of the United States, Great Britain, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  5. Facilitation of ground and sea routes for humanitarian aid, including the dispatch of a naval fleet to deliver substantial quantities of food, medicine, and essential supplies.

The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate with each passing day. In the 165 days of this

massacre, the number of martyrs has reached 31,819, with 7,000 individuals reported missing. Among the martyrs, 14,000 are children. Along with the bombardment, hunger has become another weapon of death whereby 27 children have died due to starvation.

Additionally, 9,220 women have been martyred. Similarly, 364 medical/health care workers, 48 civil defense workers, and 135 journalists have been martyred. 73,934 people have fallen ill due to various infections. It is heartbreaking to note that 72% of all affected individuals are children and women. 17,000 innocent children are living without their parents. 11,000 patients urgently need to be evacuated from Gaza for medical treatment.

On this occasion we also declare our intention to stage a sit-in at D-Chowk on March 24 to assert our demands.
